Tata Intra launch details revealed – stylish & powerful mini truck
The stylish and powerful new Intra
Tata Intra represents the changing face of Tata Motors in their journey towards shaping the future of
mobility in the country. The design is based on what TATA Motors calls the “premium tough” philosophy. While the vehicles look premium & stylish compared to other vehicles in this category, TATA Motors claims that the Intra range will be much tougher than the competition vehicles owing to some first in the segment introductions like hydroform Chassis.
At the Auto Expo 2018, Intra made a big bang entry with superstar Akshay Kumar introducing the vehicle while riding on top of the cabin. As per the available information Intra will have a 4 cylinder 70 HP DI engine. With a payload of 1100 kgs.

Intra with its new-gen cabin offers D+1 seating for Intra with a middle seat for an extra passenger. The cabin looks bigger, tougher and has been designed keeping a slick and stylish aesthetic in mind. Its strength bridges the gap between the traditional mini truck and the power of pickup trucks.
While the Intra has a maximum torque of 140 Nm. The vehicles has a 5 speed manual gearbox. Gradeability values are some of the best in this segment with Intra leading the pack with a staggering 45% gradeability. This would allow the Intra to traverse any sort of terrain hilly or steep with ease.
A Turning Circle Radius of 4.75 m makes it perfect for narrow and winding streets. 14 inch tyres, over slung suspension and a ground clearance of 170 mm work together to make it an exceptionally safe, sturdy and maneuverable compact truck well suited to last mile transport needs in different applications.
The Tata Intra comes with a warranty of 2 years or 72,000 kms & needs to be serviced every 10,000 Kms. The top speed is limited to 80 Kmph due to the regulations introduced by the government of India in recent years.
The comfort and safety aspects have also been well looked into. The overall design of the vehicle is such that it is a pleasure to drive. The Disc Brakes in the Front and Drum brakes at the rear offer an efficient braking system. Anti roll bar in the front helps reduce the body roll during fast cornering or over road irregularities. A walk through cabin, power steering, optional A.C. & low NVH levels mean that a customer can drive over long distances or even in city traffic without getting too tired.
Intra will be available in Josh Blue & Thunder Gold colours which look very fresh & stylish.
